Knitting pattern for Wonderland Balaclava by Spektakelstrik
Snug with many lovely details.
The balaclava is knitted from the bottom up with a folded ribbed edge.
Size: Fits head sizes 54-60 (60-65) cm
Suggested needles:
Double pointed needles 3 mm (60 cm) and 3.5 mm (40 cm).
Alternatively use circular needles with Magic Loop method.
Gauge:
16 sts and 38 rows with a thread from each yarn type worked together in pattern on 3 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm
Work pattern as follows (odd number of sts):
Row 1 (WS): Slip 1st st purlwise with yarn in the front, *K1, YO, slip next st purlwise * until there is 1 st left on needle, K1.
Row 2: Slip 1st st purlwise with yarn in front row, K rest of row (the YO and adjacent stitch count as 1 st (knit them together))
